Marble Heritage, Secluded Beaches & Cycladic Craftsmanship

This inspiring hiking route unveils the untouched beauty of northern Tinos, guiding you from the peaceful village of Marlas to the marble-carving capital of Pyrgos. Along the way, discover hidden beaches, historic marble quarries, and traditional villages, following a trail that reflects the island’s deep ties to nature, art, and tradition.

Tinos Walking Tours

Our walk begins in the quiet village of Marlas, nestled in the hills of northern Tinos. Surrounded by terraces and whitewashed homes, this peaceful settlement offers a glimpse into the rural soul of the island. From here, the trail leads us northward to the secluded cove of Mali Beach, a hidden paradise where turquoise waters meet untouched sands—perfect for a refreshing swim or a moment of stillness by the sea.

We then continue toward the historic marble quarries, where the island’s legendary marble craftsmanship was born. Here, you’ll walk among carved stone outcrops and learn about the material that shaped not only Tinos, but also iconic monuments throughout Greece.

Following a beautifully preserved marble-paved trail, we descend to Panormos, a charming coastal village where colorful boats bob in the harbor. Take time to rest at a local café, enjoy a swim, or simply admire the seaside scenery.

The final stretch of our route brings us inland to Pyrgos, the artistic heart of Tinos. Famed for its marble artisans, ornate fountains, and the outstanding Museum of Marble Crafts, Pyrgos is a celebration of Cycladic skill and heritage. End your hike strolling through marble-adorned alleys, visiting workshops, or enjoying a local dessert in the village square.

It was great fun walking in the countryside and the information you gave us was so interesting! Definetely we will come back
