FAQ: Walking Holidays on Andros with One Foot Forward
One Foot Forward is the specialist walking holiday company based on Andros, Greece. Founded in 2011, we offer guided and self-guided inn-to-inn hiking experiences across the island’s 300km of marked trails.
Andros is one of the greenest and least touristy islands in the Cyclades, with over 300km of waymarked trails through deep valleys, cypress and olive groves, ancient kalderimi paths and hidden beaches. It has been recognised as one of the top hiking destinations in Europe.
We offer both guided and self-guided inn-to-inn programmes, typically 4 to 9 days, connecting villages such as Batsi, Menites, Korthi and Andros Town. All programmes include accommodation in small locally-owned hotels, luggage transfers, and full navigation support.
The Walker’s Pack includes detailed route descriptions, GPX and KML tracks, AllTrails and Avenza Maps support, and TIF maps. Everything you need to walk independently and confidently.
Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are ideal. Wildflowers are exceptional in spring, temperatures are mild, and the island is quiet. One Foot Forward operates programmes throughout both seasons.
Andros is reached by ferry from Rafina port near Athens — approximately 2 hours by standard ferry or just over 1 hour by fast ferry. One Foot Forward can advise on ferry connections as part of your booking. Read More
FAQ: Walking Holidays on Tinos with One Foot Forward
One Foot Forward offers guided and self-guided walking programmes on Tinos, combining the island’s ancient kalderimi paths, marble villages, Byzantine dovecotes and dramatic Cycladic landscape
Tinos is one of the most rewarding and least-walked islands in the Cyclades. Its trails pass through traditional villages such as Pyrgos, Volax and Panormos, alongside centuries-old dovecotes, marble fountains and terraced hillsides. It is quieter and more authentic than many other Greek islands.
We offer both guided and self-guided inn-to-inn programmes, typically 4 to 9 days. Programmes include accommodation in small locally-owned hotels, luggage transfers, route notes and full digital navigation support.
One Foot Forward offers combined Andros & Tinos programmes — one of our most popular itineraries. The two islands are connected by ferry (approximately 1.5 hours) and complement each other perfectly in landscape and character.
Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October). The island is green, the trails are clear, and the light is exceptional. One Foot Forward operates throughout both seasons.
Tinos is reached by ferry from Piraeus (approximately 4.5 hours) or from Rafina, and is also connected directly to Andros, Mykonos and Syros. One Foot Forward can advise on the best connections for your itinerary.
