The Eight Brocade Qigong involves slow, soft, regular, and naturally spread in space exercises, which combine, movement and stillness. The beneficial results to our health and physical condition are achieved through the combined regulation of movement, breathing, and relaxing of the mind. The exercise of the Qigong of the Nine Treasures helps the enhancement of the immune system and the anti ageing processes of the human body. It can play an important role in strengthening the arms and legs, improving the flexibility of the joints and balance of the body. It improves the condition of the nervous system, enhances the functions of the cardio-vascular and respiratory systems, as well as of internal organs. Regular exercise of this Qigong will support the enhancement of mental health and life prolonging mechanisms.

The Eighteen Movement Taichi Qigong was developed by Lin Hou Sheng, a professor at the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Shanghai in1979. It is simple to learn and is widely practiced in Asia and worldwide. This Qigong enhances good health and offers deep relaxation, through the encouragement of a soft and calm flow of energy through the body. It has been designed to address back and shoulder problems, improve flexibility, improve and deepen respiration, and offers a general sense of well being.

Taichi chuan (taijiquan) has been part of Chinese culture for hundreds of years. Literally, the translation of the word is “ultimate fist”. Although it is a martial art, it is also an exercise for concentration and health. Its slow and gentle movements conceal the power and vitality within. A Chinese proverb characteristically says: “a needle hidden inside the cotton”.Its philosophy is based on the principles of yin and yang. Taijiquan symbolizes yin and yang as a unity of two opposing forces, flowing one into the other, moved by the force of life itself. Taichi is the bodily interpretation of the taiji philosophy. It is the microcosmic reflection of the laws of nature which humans need to comply with and accept. Its slow and calm movements symbolize the force of life that continuously changes and flows. The constant rhythm allows the subconscious to relax and be focused. To achieve the full benefits of this art, the guidance of a good teacher is necessary, as well as continuous and indefatigable practice. There are five main styles of taijiquan: Chen, Yang, Wu, Hao and Sun. Daily taijiquan practice can keep the body in good physical condition well into old age. It calms the nervous system, liberates breathing, making it deeper and calmer, improves the circulation of blood and strengthens the immune system. Taichi clears the mind, increases stamina and effectively has a positive effect on problems of the back, the shoulders and on arthritis. As a martial art, it can cultivate and increase internal energy. It allows us to develop patience and confidence, strengthening the body, helping it to gain high skills.
