enjoy a Cycladic sunset
Evening Walk to Ano Agios Petros & St. Peter’s Tower
Sunset, Heritage & Aegean Views with Local Flavors
Experience a different kind of evening in Andros with a short, guided walk to the village of Ano Agios Petros, one of the island’s hidden gems. This sunset tour includes a visit to the iconic Hellenistic Tower of St. Peter, a stroll through a scenic hillside village, and finishes with local wine or tsipouro and traditional meze, all while enjoying panoramic views of the Aegean.

Meet your local guide at a central meeting point in Batsi or Gavrio, where you’ll be transferred to the village of Ano Agios Petros, nestled above the bay. The walk begins with a visit to the famous Tower of St. Peter, one of the best-preserved Hellenistic monuments in the Cyclades. Rising 20 meters above the landscape, this cylindrical tower—built entirely of local slate—dates back to the 4th–3rd century BC and features a preserved helical interior staircase.
From this commanding location, you’ll enjoy sweeping views over the Aegean, including St. Peter’s Beach and the offshore Gavrionisia islets. Your guide will share the fascinating history of the tower and its strategic role in ancient Andros.
Afterward, continue on foot through the picturesque streets of Ano Agios Petros, a village known for its blend of Aegean and neoclassical architecture, colorful gardens, and stone-built homes. As you arrive in the small village square, with its natural spring and decorative fountain, the setting sun paints the sky in golden tones.
Here, you’ll enjoy a relaxed aperitif, featuring a glass of local wine or tsipouro, paired with light Andriot appetizers, served in an open terrace next to the spring. With the sunset over the Aegean as your backdrop, this is the perfect way to connect with local life and unwind in nature.
The tour concludes with a comfortable return transfer back to your original meeting point.
