Ready to see a different side of Andros? This half-day private sightseeing tour takes you through the untouched landscapes and historical heart of the island’s Korthi region. Combining short scenic walks with comfortable transport and local insight, this journey is perfect for those looking to explore off the tourist trail.

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive into the mountainous interior of Andros, heading toward the fortified Byzantine Monastery of Panachrantos, perched on the slopes of Mount Gerakonas. Admire its domed chapel, beautiful courtyard, and panoramic views over the valleys below.
From there, we descend to the verdant Dipotamata valley, a protected area of high ecological value. Here, we take a 30-minute guided walk along a lush ravine lined with vegetation, birdsong, and the ruins of 22 historic watermills, once the lifeblood of the area.
Next, we reach the Upper Castle (Epano Kastro)—a short uphill walk leads to this archaeological site built by the Venetians, offering a breathtaking view of Korthi Bay and the Aegean Sea. Scattered remains of cisterns, churches, and Panagia Faneromeni church still whisper tales of medieval life.
The tour continues through a series of authentic villages rarely touched by mass tourism. In Paleokastro, Kochylou, Lardia, and Episkopio, we see stone-built houses, dovecotes, windmills, and charming natural springs. At Episkopio, we stop for a short walk to visit the stone bridge and an old watermill, hidden in a green ravine.
Heading deeper into the Korthi valley, we explore the castle-house village of Aidonia, with its marble spring and pirgospita (fortified mansions). We also pass by Amonakliou, known for its simplicity and tradition, and the Medieval settlement of Moussionas, frozen in time.
Our final destination is the seaside town of Ormos Korthiou, where you can relax by the sea, swim, enjoy lunch, or optionally visit the island’s most famous beach—Grias to Pidima, with its legendary standing rock.
This tour offers short, easy walks and a rich blend of nature, history, and culture, revealing the authentic spirit of Andros through its villages, trails, and traditions.
Meet your group in the morning and, depending on the group size, you’ll travel by either a minivan, or car.
