Follow the renowned T2 trail – “From the Sea to the Sky” on this circular hike that captures the dramatic contrasts of Tinos. Starting at the seaside village of Agios Ioannis Porto and culminating at Laouti Beach, the route weaves through traditional villages, mountain landscapes, and historic landmarks, offering an unforgettable taste of Tinos’ natural and cultural richness.
The journey begins in the tranquil village of Agios Ioannis Porto, known for its serene beaches and crystal-clear waters. From here, we ascend steadily along the T2 trail, leaving the coast behind and climbing into the island’s rugged interior.
Our route brings us to the villages of Dyo Choria and Arnados, two of Tinos’ most authentic and well-preserved settlements. These villages are distinguished by their whitewashed houses, narrow arch-covered alleys, and a timeless Cycladic charm that invites you to slow down and take in every detail.
As we climb higher, the trail rewards us with breathtaking panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the surrounding islands. On clear days, you can spot Mykonos, Delos, and Syros shimmering on the horizon.
We reach the Holy Monastery of Faneromeni, perched on the mountainside. This peaceful sanctuary offers not only a window into Tinos’ religious heritage, but also one of the most stunning outlooks on the island—a perfect place for reflection and rest.
The descent begins with wide, open views leading us gradually back toward the coast. The hike concludes at Laouti Beach, where you can enjoy a well-deserved swim or simply relax by the water, with tavernas nearby offering a taste of local hospitality.
