Silent forest ascent to a secret waterfall and a mindful pause.
In the still of the morning, we leave the Byzantine Monastery of Agios Nikolaos and step into a hushed forest. Walking in silence, we listen to the water, our footfalls, and our breath, while gentle meditation cues deepen our awareness along the way — no music, no chatter, just the trail and the trees.
A Venetian bridge ushers us along a riverbed corridor of plane trees to Gerolimni, where a hidden waterfall feeds an emerald pool deep in the gorge. We arrive, we breathe, and we pause. Qigong practice, stretches, cool mist, and birdsong complete a mindful ritual that renews body and spirit before the summer heat sets in.
For those looking for something beyond the usual things to do in Andros, this guided mindful hike offers a genuinely different kind of summer morning — one you’re unlikely to find anywhere else in the Cyclades. This experience is not about distance or fitness — it’s about presence.
