A shaded summer hike to Andros’s most magical waterfall.
From the crystalline Sariza Spring, a shady trail guides us through walnut, olive and plane-tree groves to Pythara, a cool cascade veiled by ferns and mossy rock. Dragonflies skim the pools while we pause to take it all in before continuing to the 18th-century Agadakis Tower and the historic Kairios Botanical Garden.
One of the most popular things to do in Andros in summer, this guided hike combines natural beauty with local flavour in a format that works for all ages and fitness levels. Beneath tall plane trees, we taste Andriot delicacies — like local cheese, thyme honey, and seasonal fruit — and learn to recognise Mediterranean herbs and native trees. A gentle, unhurried circuit, rich in scent and sound, with just enough walking to earn the rest.
