Join us to this walking adventure holiday and discover three beautiful islands: Naxos, Iraklia, Amorgos. All of them in the heart of the Aegean Sea, in Cyclades are ideal for nature lovers and hikers. Hiking on the ancient paths and trails you will explore the hidden beauties of these three Aegean islands. The astonishing nature of Naxos with mountainous and coastal landscapes, steep rocky cliffs, springs and small gorges. The hidden gem of the Aegean the tiny island of Iraklia with sandy beaches and home made food. And at the end Amorgos, known from Luc Besson’s movie “Big Blue” with the authentic rocky landscape of Cyclades.

Day 1 : Arrival Day
Arrival in Naxos. Transfer to the accommodation. Time to relax on the beach. In the evening walk the narrow streets of the old town and the castle. Welcome dinner and talk about the program.
Day 2: Explore Naxos’ picturesque villages
In the morning you will get a transfer from your hotel to Apiranthos and to the foot of the mountain where you will start your hike through the most traditional venetian villages of the island. Walk to the summit of Fanari and experience unique views to the Greek Islands. Through impressive landscapes and rock formations towards the villages of Kaloxylos and Chalki. Kaloxylos is one of Naxos’ most picturesque villages, situated in an area lush with olive, plane and oak trees, well-known for its pretty houses and especially for the rare flowers in their courtyards. The hiking tour will end at Chalki with a traditional meal.
Day 3: Walk to the highest peak of Cyclades : Mt.Zas
Today the hiking tour goes towards the highest peak of the Cyclades, Mount Zas, which stands at an impressive 1,004m and takes its name from the ancient Greek God Zeus. You will enjoy panoramic views to the Aegean sea and the surrounded islands. A great place to experience a few moments of birdwatching, as Zas is an important nesting place for the Griffon vultures. Along the route and to the spring Argion, you will explore one of the biggest caves of the island with its impressive stalagmite structures. The hiking tour will end with a pic nic and then a transfer to the accommodation.

Day 4: Through picturesque green villages and archaeological sites.
After a short drive we will start our hike from the byzantine church of Ag. Mamas to cross the verdant villages of Naxos, with abundant springs and watermills. Along the route we will meet the old aqueduct of Flerio, the abandoned ancient Kouroi (male statues) and the ancient marble quarries. The hiking tour continues thought the lush village of Miloi and the picturesque village Kouronohori to end at Melanes. Transfer back to the accommodation. (Picnic en route)

Day 5: Ferry Boat to Iraklia Island
Today you’ll reach the most unspoiled island of the Small Cyclades; Iraklia and the fishing port of Ag. Georgios with its colorful fishing boats. Iraklia has a population of 80 people who are known for their hospitality. In the evening you can enjoy a short walk towards the highest peak of the island, one of the few places that the Griffon vulture lives and breeds. In the evening enjoy your dinner with home made food.
Day 6: Explore the cave and relax to a remote beach
Through an old path that crosses the island’s inland, we will reach the largest cave in the Cyclades, the Ag. Ioannis cave. We will spend some time exploring the cave and we will continue towards a solitary bay with a wonderful beach . Enough time to swim, relax by the beach and enjoy a picnic. In the evening we’ll walk back to the small fishing port.
Day 7: Ferry to Amorgos
Today we will arrive in Amorgos island at Aegiali known for its long sandy beaches, picturesque fishing port. Transfer to the accommodation. Enough time to explore the town. Evening Free.

Day 8: Circular walk around Aegiali
Start your day with a circular hiking tour through the villages of Tholaria , Stroumbos and Langada. Experience a unique agriculture landscape loaded with blossoms, endemic herbs and plants. Beautiful views over the bay of Aigiali while you explore the ancient city, the ruins, the old windmills and the beautiful ravine. A nice stop along the way for a light lunch.

Day 9 : Walk along the Old Strata
In the morning you will get a transfer to Hora, the capital of Amorgos and have breakfast. The hiking tour will start just after following the narrow streets and through the castle and a well paved trail we will reach the famous monastery of Hozoviotissa. The views are breathtaking to the Big Blue of the Aegean Sea. They way back to Aegiali continues crossing the spine of the island through old villages and extremely beautiful landscape.
Farewell Dinner with local specialities in the town.

Trip details
Insurance: Participants should be covered by their own personal travel-health insurance prior to the trip. The personal insurance must at least cover medical expenses as well as air rescue and the cost of repatriation.

Transportation: We travel by minivan, bus Taxi, that leaves while we walk and continues to the next place where we stay for the night.
Accommodation: We stay in hotels in the main towns (all with private facilities).
The tour prices are based on double occupancy with breakfast.
Food: Every morning we have breakfast and a light picnic en route. The rest of the meals as described in the program. (Vegetarians are welcome on our tours. Ask for the special diet menu)
Group Size: 2-12 participants.
The walking routes offer a moderate hike with a maximum of 4-5 hours walk per day. Participants should be in good physical condition with little experience.
