Day by Day
Day 1: Xenios Zeus
Arrival day and check-in at the hotel. Enjoy the Greek hospitality. Welcome drinks and Greek “mezes”. Briefing about the itinerary and introduction to the basic principles of the recipes that we will cook together.
Day 2: Mother Earth – Cucina Povera
The day starts in the morning with a visit to an organic farm near Hora. The owner, an accomplished organic farmer, supplies restaurants with fresh meats, vegetables, herbs, greens, and delicious honey. At the farm, you can partake in activities such as picking seasonal fruits and vegetables and learning everything about organic farming. light lunch at the farm. We always have something fresh and healthy to be harvested, and we use these ingredients for our cooking class, which follows in the evening.
Our fabulous cooking workshop starts today.
You will learn to cook some of the recipes of the “Cucina Povera” of the Cycladic islands, using the unique local products of our island.
Day 3: Olive Oil Stories
In the morning, you are free to explore the city.
We meet at noon and we get familiar with the most important products of Greece. Learn all about olive oil’s history and of homemade soap making with a visit to the Olive Oil Museum and a picnic at the museum yard. In the evening, taste different recipes, from savory to sweet, based on oil. , is never short on recipe inspiration when it comes to olive oil!
Taste local extra virgin oil, savored over bread and rusks, drizzled over vegetables and bean salads or boiled greens. There is a whole category of dishes in Greece named after olive oil. Day 4: Lemon Stories – Fish Recipes
In the morning, you will learn everything about “the lemon,” an important fruit for the local society. In Andros, lemon production has been recorded as a strong component of the local economy since the 17th century. You will walk through the orchards where you will experience harvesting a few lemons. After a short walk to the Megalos Potamos riverbed, you will end up in the heart of Livadia Village, where Harikleia will introduce us to the magic world of lemons, using family recipes that have remained unchanged over the centuries. You will enjoy fresh homemade lemon juice, lemon cake, and Greek coffee whilst you learn to cook lemon “spoon sweet”—”glyko tou koutaliou”.

In the evening cooking class, we cook fish. The Greek people are very fond of fish and seafood, which is reasonable considering the country’s close relationship to the sea. Fish is also an integral part of what we call the Mediterranean diet, which is considered to be one of the most balanced in the world. Enjoy plenty of appetizers and come away with some classic recipes.
Day 5: Free Day
A free day for you to explore the island of Andros and its surroundings. You can try an easy hiking tour, rent a bike, a scooter, or a car, or take the local buses to go around the island, or just relax by the beach. Alternatively, you can take a day trip to the nearby island of Tinos.

Day 6: Food Tour Tasting Experience
Today in the morning and until early in the evening, we will spend the day exploring the island while doing a food tasting with local producers. We will visit a small sausage farm in the north, and a family cheese factory in the south, taste winter honey, and end up tasting wine.
The evening is free for you to spend as you like. Choose one of the restaurants in Andros Town for your dinner.
Day 7: Farewell
In the morning, we will visit the Botanical Garden in the beautiful Agadakis building, which dates back to the 17th century. Get acquainted with the flora of the Cyclades: aromatic, medicinal plants, fruit trees, olives, plane trees, and even mushrooms. Picnic near the river.
In the evening, we have a cooking lesson. Today we get to know the most famous Andrian dish. The “fourtalia” comes from the Middle Ages and influenced the whole Mediterranean. Fresh eggs, local sausages, and cheese tasting, accompanied by various appetizers. A farewell dinner.
Day 8: Departure Day
Depending on your departure time, you will get a transfer to the port.
